It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about Shawn Levy’s upcoming film, Real Steel. The movie that stars Hugh Jackman has wrapped filming in Detroit (my hometown) and is currently in post production. That means we should expect the film’s first teaser trailer very soon. As a matter of fact you can expect it this winter.

According to Latino Review, the Real Steel teaser trailer will be attached to certain screenings of Disney’s Tron Legacy, which opens on December 17th.

The film centers on an ex-fighter who becomes a promoter when human boxing is outlawed for being too violent. People are replaced with massive robots with human characteristics that compete in gladiator style fights. Jackman’s character discovers a discarded robot that he thinks can be the new champion around the same time he finds out he’s the father of a 13 year old boy (Dakota Goyo).

The premise of Real Steel was taken from an episode of “The Twilight Zone” that starred Lee Marvin, and was based off a short story written by Richard Matheson.

Real Steel opens in theaters nationwide on November 18th.

Are you excited to see the film’s first trailer?
