This past weekend Comic-Con hit the big apple aka New York, and just like in San Diego, a lot of announcements were made. Everyone was there and people were getting exclusives for some of the huge projects including Harry Potter, Green Lantern, “The Vampire Diaries” and much, much more. Here’s our round-up of what went down…

  • Everyone is looking forward to seeing Ryan Reynolds as the Green Lantern, and over at Comic-Con the rumor (it’s been confirmed) that The Green Lantern trailer will debut in front of the upcoming Harry Potter movie in November.
  • Actor Danny McBride is still going to work in front of the camera, but it seems like he’ll also be writing. McBride will pen a prequel comic to his upcoming comedy  Your Highness for Dark Horse Comics. [MTV]
  • The cast and executive producers of the “The Vampire Diaries” came to New York and spilled the beans on Katherine. According to them, she’ll be out of the picture for a while and David Anders might be returning to Mystic Falls as Elena’s birth father John Gilbert [Aceshowbiz]
  • Just in case you didn’t know, King Kong is coming back to comics and you have IDW Publishing and Toho Co to thank. [MTV]
