A few weeks ago we learned that USA saved the life of “Law & Order” spin-off “Criminal Intent” by picking it up for one more season. At the time the network also announced the return of veteran cast member Vincent D’Onofrio, who played the male lead in the earlier years. They were looking to reunite the old cast for the final season and it looks like they’ve done it. According to EW, Kathryn Erbe has also signed on to return to the series!
A spokesperson from the USA network has confirmed the news that the original dynamic duo will be back. Both Erbe and D’Onofrio left “Criminal Intent” at the beginning of the ninth season and were replaced by Jeff Goldblum and Saffron Burrows. Here’s what creator Dick Wolf had to say about Erbe’s return to the show, “I’m excited and grateful that Katie has decided to rejoin one of the best detective teams in the history of television.”
Reunited and it feels so good, doesn’t it? This is what the majority of us were hoping for. The 10th season of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” will consist of 8 episodes and is slated to air during 2011.
What do you think of Erbe returning to Criminal Intent? Are you excited about the show’s return?
