Harry Potter seems to be the go to property for Warner Bros today. First we learned that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I won’t be released in 3D, and now it holds the key to the Green Lantern. OK, that’s a bit dramatic but it will help the general public get their first exposure to the film. According to DC writer and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns the first trailer for Green Lantern will be attached to Potter this November.
Johns spoke at the 2010 New York Comic Con and revealed that the first theatrical trailer will arrive on November 19th right alongside Harry Potter. He also stated that, “If you guys like the comics now, you’ll probably like the film.” We hope so. We saw some of the footage from the film at San Diego Comic Con but at the time they weren’t done shooting. It will be great to get a peek at the finished product.
If you want a complete breakdown of the San Diego Comic Con footage read our Green Lantern First Look. That should hold you over until the trailer debuts.
Green Lantern is scheduled to open in theaters nationwide on June 17, 2011.
What do you think of Potter and Lantern together? Are you excited?
