Marvel’s next superhero movie Thor has landed the cover of the latest issue of Empire Magazine. It features the title character as played by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, as well as an in depth piece on the film. They also debut several behind the scenes photos from the set, which feature Hemsworth and Natalie Portman and director Kenneth Branagh. Take a look…

The magazine scans come courtesy of HeyUguys, because they were able to get their copy of this month’s issue a little earlier than the rest of us. Out of this batch the most interesting photo features Thor and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) going head to horn — literally. They’re in silhouette so you can’t see any real details but you can tell that they’re in the middle of an intense dialogue scene because of the hovering mic.

There’s also the magazine cover that’s laced with lightning. It shows Thor carrying his greatest aid, his hammer. It’s a really powerful shot of the character. If only he could have worn the helmet, that would have set it off properly.

Thor will hit theaters on May 6, 2011.
