True Grit Poster, Extended Theatrical Trailer On The Way
By Krystal Clark
Earlier this week, we were blown away by the amazing first trailer for Joel and Ethan Coen’s True Grit. The film is an adaptation of the popular novel of the same name that was made famous by the 1969 Henry Hathaway movie. To keep the promotion afloat a poster has been released and it’s all text and no stars. We guess they want us to focus on the content and not the actors. There’s also an update regarding the follow up trailer that will feature more extended footage from the film.

The poster looks decent but what the hell is up with that blood shot? It looks like it was drawn on there. It takes any amount of awesomeness this poster could have had down several notches.
The story of True Grit centers on a U.S. Marshal (Bridges), his sidekick (Damon), and a 14 year old girl named Mattie (Hattie Steinfeld) who tags along as they try and track down her father’s killer. The original film’s point of view was taken from that of Cogburn, while the Coen’s remake we will follow the vantage point of the young girl. The cast also includes Josh Brolin and Barry Pepper in supporting roles. The film is scheduled for release on December 25, 2010.
According to Coming Soon, a new extended trailer will be hitting theaters this weekend and appearing online early next week. Keep your eye out for that!
