Famed author J.K. Rowling recently appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” to discuss her career and her greatest accomplishment, Harry Potter. Back in April, Rowling hinted that she would be open to writing more books in the wizard series but didn’t officially confirm it. While talking to Winfrey, she expanded on that discussion stating that she could definitely write not one, not two, but several new installments in the series.
According to People, Rowling said, “I could definitely write an eighth, ninth, tenth. I’m not going to say I won’t. I don’t think I will … I feel I am done, but you never know.” That’s right, you never know. But overall, Rowling said she’s very proud of what she’s already accomplished. “I did it. I’m really proud I did it,” she said. “But this is a new phase.”
When you think about how hard it was for her to get the very first Potter book published, it seems unreal. The author claims that 12 publishers turned her down and one of them said that she would never make money selling children’s books. We bet they feel like idiots right now.
Do you think Potter left on a good note and Rowling should leave well enough alone? Do you want to see more?
