Some major changes have occurred with the upcoming sci-fi film I’m. Mortal. Apparently, it’s going under construction in the title department according to Variety. It may have lost a name but it’s gained two actors. The trade is reporting that “Mad Men” star Vincent Kartheiser and “Hawthorne’s” Collins Pennie have joined the cast. You won’t believe who they have Pete Campbell playing…
The story for I’m. Mortal takes place in a future society where people can’t age and can only stay alive as long as they pay. Amanda Seyfried is playing the role of a woman kidnapped by a man whose time has expired so he goes on the run, taking her with him. Justin Timberlake is attached to play the kidnapper, while Cillian Murphy stars as an officer from an organization known as Timekeepers and described as “precise as the time he keeps.”
Brace yourself, Kartheiser will play Seyfried’s father. Let that sink in for a minute. He’s only 6 years her senior in reality yet he supposedly gave her life. OK, this is definitely fiction. His character must “choose between the daughter he loves and the oppressive time system that has made him rich.” On the other hand, Pennie plays the right hand man to Murphy’s cop character.
We’re just waiting to see the interaction between Seyfried and Kartheiser, because the moment she calls him dad we might vomit.
What do you think of the latest castings for the film fomerly known as I’m. Mortal?
