Were you obsessed with the 2002 Steven Spielberg film Catch Me if You Can? The original featured Leonardo DiCaprio as a young con artist who hops from profession to profession while trying to outwit an FBI agent, played by Tom Hanks. The film was nominated for two Oscars and now its going for a Tony. The feature has been turned into a Broadway play and the opening and preview dates have been announced!
According to the NY Times, Catch Me If You Can preview performances will start on March 7, 2011, and officially open the night of April 10th. Catch Me if You Can is being produced by the same folks who brought us the revamped stage adaptation of Hairspray, which was so successful that the studio decided to make another movie out of it. This adaptation will also be a musical so get ready to see lots of running mixed with high kicks and high notes.
