A new trailer has been released for the David Fincher film The Social Network and it gives us information overload. Much like the interactive trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs The World, this one is filled with plenty of useless facts and quotes. But unlike Pilgrim, The Social Network doesn’t have funny quips that entertain, instead it drops real knowledge like “The average age of a Facebook employee is 31. Currently Facebook has over 900 employees including Jesse Eisenberg’s cousin.” Yep, they go there. Check out the full trailer below…
The Social Network is based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, which tells the story behind the controversial birth of the website. Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield play Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, while Justin Timberlake stars as Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster and the founding president of the site. The film’s screenplay was written by award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin.
One of our favorite quotes from the trailer besides the one above is, “The average Facebook user loses 23.333 hours a month on Facebook. What else could you be doing with that time?”
The Social Network is slated to hit theaters on October 1st.
