If Robert De Niro was to star in a film with both Al Pacino and Joe Pesci, would the world explode? It seems like it would. De Niro starred opposite Pesci in Raging Bull, Goodfellas, and Casino and alongside Pacino in Heat and Righteous Kill. According to Deadline, all 3 of the Oscar winners might unite on the screen for one big project, The Irishman.

Back in April, we reported on The Irishman after De Niro spoke about his interest in adapting the book I Heard You Paint Houses. He wanted to make it a two part, dramatic masterpiece inspired by filmmaker Frederico Fellini. The title has nothing to do with the actual subject matter, which is quite deceiving. It’s based on a hitman named Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran, and the book chronicles his “assignments.”

Sources are saying that both Pacino and Pesci are circling the project to join De Niro, in the film that would be directed by Martin Scorsese. That’s too much greatness in one movie if you ask us. Who can handle all that Irish-Italian awesomeness? At any time during the pre-production of this film, we wouldn’t be surprised if Ray Liotta randomly pops up for good measure.

What do you think of this cast for The Irishman?
