Maggie Q has a lot to live up to with her new gig as the illusive “Nikita.” She stars as the title character in The CW series that’s based off the 1990 Luc Besson film La Femme Nikita, which spawned a TV spin-off during the mid-nineties, and now over a decade later another one is hitting the small screen. Q has done her fair share of action with roles in Mission Impossible 3 and the upcoming vampire thriller Priest, but the fight choreography she does for “Nikita” is a little different. Check out this behind the scenes video of the actress in action…

The tagline for the new series is “Nikita Goes Rogue,” and judging from this footage she’s taking no prisoners. It looks like the producers and the stunt coordinator want to take a realistic approach to the fight scenes on the show. Instead of it being really fancy and extravagant, it’s direct and powerful. Her moves are meant to disable her opponent and take them down as quickly as she can.

“Nikita” airs on The CW Thursday nights at 9PM.
