Later this month Michael Douglas and Oliver Stone will return to the meanest land of all — Wall Street. The duo are back in the sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps to tell another story of greed gone bad. This time Gekko isn’t the top dog, but an ex-con using his slimy ways to once again influence those around him. If there’s anything he knows it’s the game, so check out this newly released clip that features Gekko explaining to Shia LaBeouf why “money never sleeps.”
After emerging from his stint in prison Gordon Gekko has become a popular author and media expert on all things financial. Labeouf’s character Jake is completely enamored by his charisma and his knowledge, and like most young brokers falls under his spell.
Money Never Sleeps takes a page out of the original’s script, with the only difference being time. It’s set 20 years after the first film and centers on an up and coming Wall Street trader who gets taught some hard lessons in the business. In the midst of it he unites with the infamous Gekko to save the financial community from the oncoming economic collapse.
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps was originally scheduled to hit theaters in April but has been pushed back to September 24th.
