Are you going through Zombieland withdrawal? Are your daily viewings of the DVD just not cutting it? Well, lucky for you Ruben Fleischer and Sony plan on making a sequel and the director recently gave a little update. The good news is, the first draft of the film’s screenplay is done, the bad news is it might not be his next directorial feature.
You’re probably asking yourself what the hell could be more important than Zombieland 2? According to ShockTillYouDrop, a few projects have caught the director’s eye, which may keep him occupied for the foreseeable future.
I got a couple irons in the fire, so we’ll see, but I’d be psyched to do it. I have this buddy cop movie that I sold to DreamWorks that’s pretty cool that these guys Arnold and Poole are writing. There’s a movie that Mike White wrote called ‘Babe in the Woods,’ that’s a really cool script, so those kind of exist and I guess we’ll see what happens.”
He did confirm that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick turned their draft of Zombieland 2 into the studio but he hasn’t read it yet. Hopefully he gets on that soon, because the first Zombieland was hilarious, horrifying, and left us wanting more. Plus, the original cast is set to return and we want to see them smash some heads again!
What film do you think Fleischer should tackle first?
