Here’s some good and bad news about “Saturday Night Live’s” upcoming season. Former regular and three-time Emmy nominee Amy Poehler is returning to the show but unfortunately, her arrival will coincide with the departure of one of its current cast members, Jenny Slate. Who didn’t see that one coming?
Amy Poehler will grace the SNL stage again for the 36th season premiere when it airs on September 25th. She’s been added to the current host list which already includes 2010 Emmy winners Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad“) and Jane Lynch (“Glee“), both of whom will appear in October. Much like Tina Fey last season, we hope Poehler brings back some of her famous characters and skits.
On to someone who didn’t have that many memorable sketches in her arsenal, relative newbie Jenny Slate. The comedienne joined the cast of SNL in 2009 and got a lot of attention but it wasn’t for being funny. It was because she slipped up and dropped the F-bomb during one of her sketches. Yeah, she’s the one.
According to EW, Slate is out and won’t be returning to the show anytime soon.
What do you think of the latest ins and outs of Saturday Night Live?
