First Look: Rihanna on the Set of Battleship

Rihanna joining Peter Berg’s Battleship was one of the weirdest casting choices we’ve seen in a while. Even though it came completely out of left field, the singer-turned-actress has landed a supporting role, and we’ve got the pictures to prove it. On one of her many fansites, they’ve posted some photos of her on set and dressed in full military gear. We’re seeing it, but we still don’t believe it. Take a look…

Besides Rihanna, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, and Brooklyn Decker. If that’s not a pretty cast we don’t know what is. The story will take place across the seas, over the skies and land in a battle for planet survival against a superior force. Kitsch stars as a naval officer who leads the fight and Skarsgard plays his brother. Decker plays a woman named “Sam,” but no character description has been given.

Rihanna’s current haircut works for her character. But it looks like they made her get ride of that fire engine red color she’s been wearing for the past few months. This is definitely a change of pace for the singer. What do you think?
