Some movie posters are truly original and the latest from Tron Legacy is one of them. A new IMAX poster has been released and it looks nothing like the previous ones we’ve seen in the past. Instead of focusing on one thing, it shows a collage of images like a race track, a lightcycle and a player. It’s a bit confusing but still interesting. Check it out…

UPDATE: The reason this poster doesn’t look like the others is because it’s fan made. It was posted on Deviantart. Amateur or not, it’s still pretty good.

Is that a tube or a laser streak going down the middle? I also can’t tell if that’s Jeff Bridges alter ego Clu at the top or some random player. The one clear thing is the background, which has been used in all the other posters (bluish-gray thunder clouds). The tag line reads “It’s not just a game any more,” which might hint at the film’s family element.

In Tron Legacy, Kevin Flynn has a son (Sam) who gets pulled into the virtual world. They haven’t seen each other in years because Flynn “disappeared” into the game when he was a kid. As an adult, Sam takes matters into his own hands to defeat Tron, and pick up where his father left almost 30 years ago.

Tron Legacy is directed by Joseph Kosinski and opens in theaters on December 17th.

What do you think of the Tron Legacy IMAX poster?
