Back in July, it was announced that Trent Reznor of the rockband Nine Inch Nails would be doing the score for David Fincher’s upcoming film, The Social Network. One of the tracks from the score has appeared online and you can hear for yourself if its a match made in movie heaven…

After listening to this a couple of times, it will give you chills. It’s not as creepy or daunting as the Inception theme, but it evokes a similar reaction. Who knew that the story of Facebook could be backed by such haunting music?

The Social Network is based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, which tells the story behind the controversial birth of the website. It stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Joe Mazzello, and Rashida Jones. The film’s screenplay was written by award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin.

What do you think of Reznor’s song for The Social Network? Do you think it’s a good fit?
