Are you ready for some football? Are you ready to hear Brad Pitt shout those words at the top of his lungs? Well, he might not say it that loud but he will lend his voice to the game in an upcoming documentary. According to Yahoo, the film entitled America’s Game: 2009 New Orleans Saints, will get a little help from Benjamin Button when it debuts on the NFL network on September 8th.
Pitt isn’t the first actor to back one of these gut-wrenching sports documentaries, he’s following in the footsteps of Alec Baldwin, Morgan Freeman (of course), Gene Hackman, Ed Harris, Martin Sheen, Bruce Willis and James Gandolfini. “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm narrated last year’s film on the Pittsburgh Steelers. As you can see, the actor is in good company.
America’s Game: 2009 New Orleans Saints will chronicle the team’s miraculous win over the Indianapolis Colts last February. The NFL usually picks a major celebrity every year to narrate the documentary and “Pitt was chosen because of his humanitarian work in New Orleans in the five years since Hurricane Katrina.” It also doesn’t hurt that the actor and his partner Angelina Jolie own a home there.
What do you think of Pitt’s new gig?
