When the domestic trailer was released for The Town, it was evident that Ben Affleck was going to bring his A-game both behind and in front of the camera. The actor directs and stars in the Boston-set crime drama as a crook who wants out of his gangster lifestyle. Over on Trailer Addict, they’ve released the international version of the trailer and it brings the heat!
The story follows a bank manager (Rebecca Hall), the career criminal (Affleck) who steals more than her heart, and the dedicated FBI agent (Jon Hamm) trying to bust the thief and his gang that includes Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner. Blake Lively also co-stars as the younger sister of Renner’s character, who happens to be the troubled ex-girlfriend of Affleck.
The trailer shows a lot of the same stuff we saw before, with a few shots of new footage. They still reveal Affleck as one of Hall’s kidnappers during one of the final scenes, which really bothers me. I can’t help but feel like their revealing a major part of the story. These days trailers show a little too much for my taste.
The Town hits theaters on September 17th.
What do you think of the international trailer for The Town? Is it better or worse than the domestic version?
