If you were a child of the nineties, you grew up with several things: Power Rangers, Sega Genesis, and Macaulay Culkin. The former child actor is celebrating his birthday today (August 26th), and it’s a huge milestone — he’s 30! Little Kevin from the Home Alone series is all grown up, and those of us who are still in denial can’t hide from it anymore.
During his heyday, Culkin was the most sought after child star in the business rivaling the success of Shirley Temple. His resume includes Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, My Girl, Richie Rich, Uncle Buck, and he even had a part in Oliver Stone’s Born on the Fourth of July but it was cut out. At his peak, he was the first child actor to ever receive $1 million dollars for one film — 1991’s My Girl.
On a personal note, he’s the godfather of Michael Jackson’s son Prince Michael and daughter Paris and he was previously married to actress Rachel Miner in 1998 (divorced in 2000). He’s also the older brother of actors Kieran Culkin and Rory Culkin. Keiran appeared as his cousin in the first Home Alone movie.
Here are some photos that featured Culkin at the height of his career.
Are you shocked that Culkin is already turning 30?
