After months of speculation we’ve finally got the answer we’ve all been waiting for. We now know where the split will take place that separates Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I and Part II. Potter covers the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, and it’s inside that they release the coveted answer. But you don’t have to run to the store to get the goods, we can tell you the big secret right now…
According to the magazine,
“Part I will end at about Chapter 24 of the book, with Voldemort gaining possession of the Elder Wand, one of the three Deathly Hallows that allow the bearer to conquer death.”
They suggest that since all of that will happen in the first film, Part II will mostly cover the huge battle for Hogwarts and its aftermath. This will be the action that leads into the resolution of the series, hence the end. The point of the split does occur a little later than what some fans were suspecting but it might benefit to have one film completely dedicated to the final fight.
There have been several movies prior to this that have built up to the big moment and we’ll get to see it knowing that it won’t be rushed or cut due to time constraints. Its sounds like a good move, what you do you think?
Do you think the split takes place too late in the story? Where should it have gone?
