The hot, shirtless guy who’s become a marketing sensation for Old Spice is taking his career to the next level. Isaiah Mustafa previously landed a part in the upcoming Tyler Perry drama, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf as a supporting character but instead of keeping him locked in that role, Perry made a switch. He pulled him out of Colored Girls and put him in his other flick Madea’s Big Happy Family — as the lead!
Do you think Mustafa has what it takes to handle a feature film all by himself? He obviously has the charisma and can keep an audience’s attention, but he’ll be sharing the screen with other actors. He’ll co-star with “Loretta Devine (as his mother-in-law) and Bow Wow (as his brother-in-law), as a man struggling with his marriage and family relationships. It’s great that he has this opportunity to showcase his talent, but according to him he had no idea that he even landed the job.
“I got a call from my manager a week and a half ago who told me that I was no longer in Colored Girls and said I would be in Madea’s Big Happy Family instead,” Mustafa said. “It was confirmed last Monday, and I left on Friday to begin filming.”
He also said he’s not sure why Perry made the swap but he’s really happy to have gotten the role. If he kept him in Colored Girls he would have only been in about one or two scenes. Talk about a lucky break!
What do you think of Mustafa taking on a leading man status? Do you think he can pull it off?
