AMC has been able to pull off a rarity in television. Almost all of their shows whether originals or remakes seem to earn critical acclaim. They’re just that damn good! With “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad,” the new series “Rubicon,” and “The Walking Dead” debuting this fall they’ve got a full plate but they’re not slowing down. According to EW, they’ve just announced that they have a new drama in the works.
At the moment the show is untitled, but it’s said to be an American adaptation of a popular Danish TV show called “Forbrydelsen”. It centers on “the murder of a young girl and the subsequent police investigation” and it will be set in Seattle. One actress who’s been cast in the lead role is an alum of HBO’s “Big Love” and no, it’s not Amanda Seyfried it’s Mireille Enos who played twin sisters Kathy and Jodeen Marquart on the show.
The new AMC series was previously known as “The Killing” when it was first picked up by the network in January 2010. They ordered a 13 episode first season with Patty Jenkins (Monster) directing the pilot. Other members of the cast include Billy Campbell, Michelle Forbes, Joel Kinnaman, and Brent Sexton.
