We’ve got three new posters promoting three very different movies — well, maybe not that different. Pirahna 3D is a horror flick, Devil is a horror-thriller and Joaquin Phoenix’s I’m Still Here is just horrible. We kid, we kid! They each have their own marketing approach, which includes an homage to old school classics. Take a look at the latest posters below…
If Devil wasn’t advertised as coming “From the mind of M. Night Shymalan our interest in this film would shoot through the roof! It’s about a group of people trapped in an elevator, who suffer through a supernatural event because one of them isn’t who they say they are. The film opens in theaters on September 17th.
We smell an obvious homage to Steven Spielberg’s Jaws here. It’s not campy enough that Richard Dreyfuss is in the movie, they also had to steal 90 percent of the film’s original poster too. Piranha 3-D centers on a small town whose population multiples tenfold every year during the 4th of July weekend (thanks to rambunctious college kids). This year something big is going down and it has nothing to do with drugs or alcohol. The town is sitting on a crater that unleashes thousands of mutated and deadly piranhas whose sole purpose is to feed on every man, woman, and child treading the waters. Piranha 3D opens on August 20th.
Oh Joaquin Phoenix, what are we going to do with you? The Golden Globe winner and (2-time) Oscar nominated actor ditched his successful acting career to become a rapper. In order to do this he had to have Casey Affleck record his transformation from clean-cut thespian to a hobo hip-chop star. The result is I’m Still Here a documentary scheduled to hit theaters this fall.
What do you think of the latest movie posters? Which one is your favorite?
