Justin Bieber currently has the pre-teen/teen demographic on lock when it comes to music and now he’s trying to take over the film world. Following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus and The Jonas Brothers, Paramount is developing a 3D film based on Bieber’s life story…that’s right, all 16 years! Apparently a lot can happen in that short amount of time and they want to milk it for all it’s worth.
Davis Guggenheim, the Oscar-winning director of An Inconvenient Truth, is currently in talks to direct. Why would he go from an acclaimed documentary to…this, we have no idea. The Bieber flick is untitled at the moment, and the singer will play himself in the film, which will be filled with concert footage from his upcoming tour.
This movie news comes off the heels of a deal Bieber made with HarperCollins to pen a memoir about his life. What is it that this kid can bring to the table that’s so electrifying? Is his hair fake? Is he really a girl? Inquiring minds want to know. He’s become an internet sensation via YouTube and every social networking site known to man, and now he’s ready to take on the film medium. Sigh.
Bieber’s movie is scheduled to hit theaters on February 11, 2011, and the singer recently tweeted his reaction to the news.
