Today, during an interview with Edgar Wright for his amazing new film Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World, he ever so slightly mentioned Ant-Man. Though he’s still in Pilgrim land and not quite focused on any upcoming projects, he was able to enlighten us a bit on the property and his working relationship with Marvel Chief, Kevin Feige. At the moment, the adaptation still seems vague and “in the works” but you can easily tell there’s something in the air. If Wright does decide to direct Ant-Man, and it’s anywhere near as good as Pilgrim, I’m in!

Here’s what he had to say…

On a possible Ant-Man movie:

Edgar Wright: I talked to Kevin Feige about that a while back. We just discussed whether he would be in The Avengers. The thing is, the script that I’ve written, whether it’s next or not I don’t know. The chronology of it or the way it works wouldn’t really fit in with what they do. And my film is very much an introduction to that character, and so it wasn’t something where it felt right to introduce him in that film. Maybe if I do the solo Ant-Man film and maybe there’s a later Avengers then they could draft him in later. But it didn’t work with the kind of angle that we were going to do with the origin that I’d written.

Check out Ant-Man below…

The character has gone under multiple costume changes and transformations, but for the most part this is what he generally looks like. Unfortunate, isn’t it? If anyone can make this guy watchable and entertaining, it’s Wright. Fingers crossed that we’ll be seeing Ant-Man on the big screen in the near future.

Do you want to see a live adaptation of Ant-Man? Do you think Wright should direct?
