Well it’s about damn time! We’ve literally been hearing about Beauty and the Beast getting a special 3D release for the past few years to no avail. Now, Disney has finally decided to put out a teaser trailer for the film to let us know that it’s still happening. The original movie was released in 1991 and was the first animated feature to be nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards (in the live action category) Take that Up! At last year’s Comic-Con Disney panel, they showed us a scene from the film that had been converted into the 3D format. We wrote up an extensive first look preview and expected it to tide us over until February 12th of this year. Guess what? It didn’t. The film never hit theaters but Toy Story 1, 2, and 3 sure did!

We don’t mean to sound bitter but stop it with the games Disney. Every blue moon there’s a film that has an amazing narrative that could actually benefit from 3D, like this animated classic.

P.S. The Lion King is being converted into 3D too!
