Early last week, we brought you a few photos from the set of the upcoming remake of Arthur. The film is based on the 1981 feature of the same name that starred the late Dudley Moore and Liza Minnelli. The new take has fellow Brit Russell Brand in the title role along with Helen Mirren, and Luis Guzman who appears with him in this latest batch of photos. For some odd reason, Brand and Guzman are on set and dressed as Batman and Robin. We don’t know how, we don’t know why, they just are. Take a look…

Are we the only ones getting a Joel Schumacher vibe from these photos? The campiness of mid-nineties Batman is definitely present here. Why are they dressed this way? Was there a superhero sequence in the original that we forgot about? The most hilarious thing about Brand’s costume is his utility belt. It’s a functioning alcoholic’s dream!

The film is directed by “Modern Family’s” Jason Winer and will follow a wealthy drunk (Brand) who risks his large trust fund to be with someone his mother doesn’t approve of — a poor girl (Greta Gerwig). He’s pushed to marry a well-off heiress (Jennifer Garner) who has a very religious father, played by Nick Nolte. Oscar winner Mirren is on board as Arthur’s caregiver or “adult nanny.”

The original Arthur was a critical and commercial success which earned four Oscar nominations when it was released.

What do you think of the latest photos from Arthur? What the hell does Batman and Robin have to do with the movie?
