The Social Network is based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, which tells the story behind the controversial birth of the website. Jesse Eisenberg and Garfield play Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, while Justin Timberlake stars as Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster and the founding president of the site. The film’s screenplay was written by award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin.

At first, it looked like this trailer would be just like its predecessors with the photos but it actually gave us some legit footage. Besides the key players, a lot of the people involved in Facebook’s creation haven’t been recognized. It will be interesting to see their side of the story as well as Zuckerberg’s told on the big screen.

The Social Network is scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2010.
