Inception: Movie Review
By Mali ElfmanINCEPTION MOVIE REVIEW: It’s that time… time for all of you to go out and experience Inception. Some of you may have seen the film, others not, I have tried my best to keep any and all spoilers out of this review while still talking about the film as a whole. If you haven’t seen it, you should be fairly safe, if you have, there’s plenty for you to argue with me about as this is a rather massive review to reflect my enormous opinion about it.
Without anyone more pointless babble, lets get to it…
Players:
- Director/Writer: Christopher Nolan
- Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio (Cobb), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Arthur), Ellen Page (Ariadne), Tom Hardy (Eames), Ken Watanabe (Saito), Dileep Rao (Yusuf), Cillian Murphy (Robert Fischer, Jr.), Tom Berenger (Browning), Marion Cotillard (Mal), Pete Postlethwaite (Maurice Fischer), Michael Caine (Miles), Lukas Haas (Nash)
- Cinematography: Wally Pfister
- Music: Hans Zimmer
The Plot:
Lets not talk about that shall we? The less you know about Inception the better (though that’s not to say that’s it’s hard to understand once you’re in the film ).
The Good:
- The Overall Idea: This is one big concept to tackle. The idea of our dreams and how one effects them is a risky topic to tackle because it’s endless and quite complex. Nolan makes it not only easy to understand (in terms of the story) but raises many interesting debates on “mind travel” that will leave you arguing in comment sections on blogs for weeks to come!
- The Visuals: I don’t think I need to go in depth on this one. If you’ve seen a poster, a trailer, any artwork from this film, you know you’re in for a visual treat. It’s a beautiful film to watch especially certain scenes…
- The Fred Astaire Throw Back: Absolutely amazing. In case the the “Fred Astaire” reference didn’t made sense to you, the scene I’m referring to (don’t worry it’s on posters and in the trailer) is the one with Joseph Gordan Levitt and Co. fighting in the hotel hallway — it’s a high-tech, action packed, and a direct throw back to when Fred Astaire walked up the wall for the first time and blew audiences away. Somehow Nolan has found a way to bring back that sense of wonder despite all the decades of special effects that have dulled audiences. I believe this scene was shot the good ol’ fashioned way with a rotating hallway and some wires. There is something about using camera techniques instead of CGI that is so much more fun to watch and gives the film a sense of integrity and wonder that most blockbusters wouldn’t both with.
- The Supporting Cast: This is for the Nolan new comers mostly — Ellen Page, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy and the rest all felt right at home in the film. They added to the acting credibility and gave us more than just one-liners. That being said, below I will talk about the problems with some of the repeat casting…
- The Attempt: Despite how big of a director Nolan is, studios want him to make what works, not take any risks or attempt something out of the box. It would have been so easy for him and he would have been so loved by both audiences and studios for jumping into another Batman right after The Dark Knight. To add to that if this movie flops it could be detrimental to the sales of the next Batman. Nolan stepped away from a guaranteed hit and took a big risk on this film by following his dream and making something reminiscent of Memento but on the studios summer-action film dime. He’s ballsy on all levels and despite what I think about his film, I have to respect his decision to make this film, his process and for the most part the outcome of Inception. It wasn’t perfect but that’s because it wasn’t safe, he took a chance and came out successful. Which leads us to…
The Bad:
- Lack of a Wow Factor: Don’t crucify me yet, give me a moment to explain. Before I saw this movie I heard people making comments like “wow this movie is mind-blowing” and “I love walking out of a movie not fully understanding it” and that made me SO excited! I thought it was going to be like the Matrix all over again, where you have to watch it 10 times and write an essay to fully grasp it. That being said, I got this movie about half way through and there was no real surprise or twist for me. Once you get the character, who is quite simple, it’s all there and the story never contradicts it.
- Dialogue/Script: Once again Nolan is great at the grand concepts and this movie is about as big as one can get and I applaud him for going there, but with a limitless world, there sure was a lot of repeat dialogue and a lot of interesting things not discussed. Something tells me this was because someone got nervous about this film not having “mass appeal.” The fact is, this film would have been better with half the dialogue, not as much marketing spelling things out and letting the audience figure out some of the characters for themselves
- Leo in the Lead: Although in many ways his character Cobb is a “noble” character, at the heart of it all, he’s kind of a sap. Yes, it’s sweet that he loves a women, but he’s not fighting for anything that I really care about or can side with. It’s nice that “he wants his family back” and that’s only enough to make me pity him, not enough for me to follow him through anything and risk other characters lives who I find more interesting. He’s not fighting for humanity, the world, he’s just fighting for himself and in a movie of this scale, you need to care about more than just some selfish dude. That coupled with Leo constantly delivering the same lines and once again, his boyish good looks getting in his way, I never really bought his character nor cared about what happened to him.
- Repeat Casting: Yes I LOVE Michael Caine and Cillian Murphy but the fact is, I kept feeling like I was in the wrong movie and it was distracting. I wanted Murphy to go mad and poison people, and Caine to pour some hot tea and give Batman some advice. Although they are amazing actors, Nolan would have been better off finding a whole new cast or at least making them look different or changing their accents! Their dress and demeanor was too similar and therefore confusing for the audience.
The Problem:
Nolan takes an incredibly hard concept to grasp and tries to make it understandable for mass audiences (something I’m sure the studios wanted in order to make back their massive budget), but in trying to make it both a mind blowing experience and easy to grasp for everyone, it lost its luster and falls short of a complete mind-blowing experience. Nolan is capable of taking this film one step further, cutting the unnecessary dialogue and shaping it into a mind-boogling and yet entertaining film. He’s done it before with Memento, he did a great job at handling Batman, and in this one I feel like we get Nolan at 80% and I can’t help but wonder what he could have done if he would have gone all the way.
I don’t know what the cause was, the script, the hero, the cut, or the studio, but something held this film back. This is a good film and enjoyable to watch, but not great and there was the potential in this to be something epic.
Rating: 8/10

It's just an updated version of the movie Dreamscape which stared Dennis Quaid.

This movie was awesome. You're a pretentious prick.

Dale, that was my feeling exactly. But it IS different.

Worst movie ever, could have stayed home playing monopoly and had more enjoyment. Certainly not worth the $11 price tag, for the totally immature.
The movie stinks.!!! With a capital SSSS

I disagree with this bad review. I watched the movie yesterday and I really enjoyed it, it is really great. One of the best movies I have ever seen since Avatar. It is easy for you to criticise “Mali”, but to do something like this isn’t anybody’s job. Taking such a complicated idea and make appeal and easy to understand to mass audience is in itself a great accomplishment. The director makes you focus on every single scene until the last one. Tearing apart such a great piece of work is really a bad thing and unprofessional and that is what this Mali has just done. I encourage everybody to go and enjoy this great movie which I’m sure it will win some oscars; at least the best special effects award.

I totally agree with this review. The director made it too simple for the generally stupid audience. I don't like it when I am able to understand sci-fi concepts too easily.

Rewatch the movie, people. There are some rather odd contradictions that should at least leave you with some questions.

I disagree with your comment about the story being predictable. When the movie ended I thought I had it all figured out as well, however, as Mister Anonymous pointed out, there are allot of contradictions and inconsistencies that do not lead to the obvious conclusion. Watch it again. You will be surprised.

This review is horrible. Proofread and get rid of some of the spelling/grammar mistakes that occupy 50% of this review before you start criticizing movie directors like Christopher Nolan.
Leo plays an awesome role, and really knows how to do his job. He's playing a man that lost his wife. He's playing a man torn with guilt and feelings of regret that he can't seem to get through, and the dream world glorifies these regrets.
Maybe Christopher Nolan didn't want to make an overly cheesy, patriotic, regular 'blockbuster flick' like the rest of the action summer movies. Not every man is torn by a decision to save the world, but rather a decision to save and help himself and those around him. That, I would think, would seem a decision that the audience could more relate to.
The movie doesn't explore any moral dilemmas or deal with any hot political topics. It simply explores the mind, and asks us: What goes on in the dream world, where perception and creation can go so far to make the dream world seem reality itself? It talks about a man brave enough to risk his life and his sanity to save his family. Cobb is selfish, but what man doesn't have his flaws? I think Cobb is a character that the audience can easily relate to.
After seeing the movie twice, I couldn't help but to derive some sort of meaning from it.
What difference is there between dream and reality, except for the fact that dreams define what we want while reality is a depiction of what we have to live through? What if what we want overcomes what we have to live through? Wouldn't dream then become our reality?
I can't help but think that, after a second viewing, and after seeing Cobb's totem twisting to uncertainty, that Cobb's dream world has finally become his reality.

I personally think it's because you're too stupid to understand the already simple concept of inception. It was an enjoyably, brilliant movie with, like the review stated, a tough concept to tackle. I thought the movie was excellent and well deserving of it's applause.
Wednesday, July 21, 2010 8:39AM
Spelling and grammar check, PLEASE.
Other than that, you bring up some good points but it's okay for a movie to be simple and yet captivating. I absolutely hate cheesy love stuff, but this was done in a tasteful way. All in all a little too harsh of a review for a movie in this day of sequels and remakes and trash.

I agree with most of the initial review for Inception and having seen the film just a few hours ago I agree, it just didn't reach the levels I thought it would. The idea was good but the actual delivery of the story was not entirely fulfilling. I think the acting on the whole was brilliant but I think there was a little over editing to make a thin story appear at a cracking pace and then shuddering to what was for me a very dis-satisfying conclusion. Sorry to all you Chris Nolan fans , as I am one and was seriously looking forward to this movie and it just didnt happen for me. Bring on Batman 3 and hopefully we will get the full Nolan package then.

If you don't have the ending figured out in the first 10 minutes or so, then sure this is a great movie for you. It's really nothing more than "I've seen that Matrix movie, I bet I can do that, but better!"
Meh. Good movie I suppose but all the hype it's getting set my expectations high and there just isn't any way this movie has done anything new at all. It let me down big time. Talked about this with a bunch of friends who saw it and they thought it was the greatest thing ever. Their arguments we're all the same. "It left me questioning what really happened." Yeah well so does someone telling you a story and stopping right at the climax and walking away. That simple, sorry no awards for that.

I tried to shoot myself in order to wake up, thinking reading this pathetic review was all a nightmare.
You sir, are an IDIOT.

EXCELLENT movie… And this review is right on the buttom. This is one of those movies that reminds me that there is still some writing talent left out there. And I hope it will be an example for some of the other writers and studios alike, that good movies, make good money, and keep movie goers coming back. Going to see it a second time again tomorrow night!

Good movie— visually plot, etc.. Character development was no he'll but the bottom line is I just did not find the film "entertaining" I got to the point where I couldn't wait for it to end . You can have the most thought provoking cerebral and innovative movie but it has to bewatchable This could have been a great flick but it missed the boat
Saturday, August 7, 2010 10:49AM
review spot on. movie could've done much more, was overedited (still 3hrs) and inconsistent/unexplained. I mean, the girl is on the team for 5 min and already she's an expert on Leo's safety and possible consequences. How does the actual 'shared dream' machine work (especially within a dream, I don't think an I.V. drip would work in the dream world)? Aren't they doing 'inception' every time they put a created world in someone's head? Maybe another viewing or two could answer the ?s better. As for the ending, there's really only one way to interpret it for the movie to 'work'. Why else would his subconscious precipitate itself (wife) into everyone else's dreams while no one else's does?
Sunday, August 8, 2010 11:13PM
The movie is "mind boggling– thought provoking" yet fascinating interpretation of "power of mind , power of ideas and power of dream" about human concious, subsconcious and superconscious mind…the movie was a combination of eternal love… "obssession- complusion"….that lead to a "pure delusion" versus reality…the idea planted into the "wife's" mind….the "idea" of growing older together…living in "their"own world counterbalances the complexity of the film…on the other part…"dreaming is creating— creating is inspiring—- inspiring is believing…and believing is achieving"…. Cobb — maximized his "potential"…he believed in what he can do— and achieved his dreams back to reality of seeing what he has left behind his great LOSS— his children— his family….Im a Medical Professional and an ordinary movie viewer….but I do appreciate and really enjoyed the movie….-MGL

it seems a lot of blather about an ordinary film fresh from the Hollywood mill. Is it really different The Maxtrix and the endless other films produced by Hollywood. See my review at Larrikinatthemovies.com

I suffered through two hours of Inception last night, and I would call it the absolute worst movie I have ever seen. Aside from some awesome special effects such as the destruction of a city, it had all the class of a kid’s video game. The sound track in our local theater was cranked up to the threshold of pain, and drowned out much of the dialogue.
Just for the record, I think Matrix was the second worst movie I have ever seen.
Tuesday, August 17, 2010 12:28PM
Hei2….
I think this movie is good… I enjoyed watching this movie. If you said it complicated, you maybe just didn't get the main idea of this movie….so, I hope you watch this movie before you make review….^^>….
This is just my opinion, don't be depressed….I just want you to keep writing about movies without showing their weakness.

totally agree with Lack of wow factor~ people keep giving this film with a very high comment and rating made me had a really high hope when i went into cinema yesterday, i thought it gonna be so hard to understand blah blah blah… eventually, can figure it out quite easiely about the concept of the film.
Sunday, August 29, 2010 10:42PM
i agree with the reviewwe that you dont feel any empathy whatsoever with leo's character and that cobb is a a criminal nothing more and nothing less..
alos that plot did not really sway much ,,though the dreams did confuse us.. but i cant say i can agree with him on the casting choice of the directer.
cillian Murphy is incredible .. he is one of the reasons why there are lot of people who were so very pissed at cobb and his gang for pulling the heist and manipulating fischer the way they did..
though i would have loved to see his character a bit more well defined …
a bit more dramatic .. like he were some sort of alter ego of cobb?

Oh wow. Thank you thank you thank you for posting the only reasonable review of this that I've read all internet-wide.
I felt that Inception was one giant missed opportunity. My husband and I still have random spasms of frustration about how over-simplified the whole concept was, and how poorly the actors were directed. Some of the performances (Eames, for example) were very fine, indeed. But had Nolan only given the actors further rein to stretch their comedic wings…
DiCaprio was about as uncharasmatic as they come, and we have nicknamed him Old Whiney in our household. Coilltard, who otherwise is a superb actress was given the dumbest script and even dumber direction. Play a three-dimensional dead-dream character who actually resembles a human, and then we'll be terrified and confused.
Did you notice that everyone explained everything THREE TIMES!? But left the things that just didn't jive with the logic established within the film, slide on by?
There was absolutely NOTHING CONFUSING about this film at all (except its stupidity), and I have no idea why everyone is so "woo, I didn't know when we were in a dream and when we weren't" and "zomg! what happened at the end!?" Hm.
Of COURSE we knew exactly what was happening 30 seconds into it. EVERYTHING WAS OVER EXPLICATED! Sheesh.
There was so much delicious potential for real semiotic and architectural exploration in the realm of dream design; not to mention insight into the inner-machinations of multinational deal brokering and the back-door antics that are required to shift our "realities" "for real" substantially… bit it was all dissolved in the introduction of a fairly obtusely sketched character played by Cillian Murphy and his (very last minute feeling) attendant storyline.
And if Nolan had actually gone there, the concept that the entire thing is simply a psychological manifestation of Cobb's demons could have been so much darker, more profound, far more disturbing with far more universal implications for all of us.
I, too was excited.
And therefore deeply let down.
Inception = blockbuster fail.

“Inception” was an amazing film. I absolutely loved it. It has a very defined message. It slightly resonates for me with some concepts from Eastern philosophies about self realization and, to some degree, about reincarnation. Directing and cinematography were wonderful, script was great, cast did a fenomenal job. Loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tuesday, November 2, 2010 10:35AM
I prefered South Park's 'Insheeption'.
I'm a fan of Nolan (Memento was brilliant) but this was stupid.
When I was 8 our teacher asked us to write a story about anything. I wrote a crazy dinosaurs return to earth story but ended it with..'and then I woke up. It was all a dream'. I got told off and it was explained that using a dream for a story is a cop out.
You can say what you want but the movie was stupid. I get it but it was far too silly, the acting was poor (Pete Postlethwaite was only used as stiff/dying man and he was the best actor the movie had available)and you all fell hook, line and sinker for the Hollywood press banging on about this movie being a classic. Remember 100 million was spent in marketing this movie.
Looks like they didn't waste it sheeple! In time it will be found out (like Basic Instinct which also received rave reviews on release but is now universally panned).
Garbage movie.

It is one of the best film i have ever watched. Really enjoyed it.
Sunday, November 14, 2010 7:54PM
At the risk of being called an idiot by some very passionate Inception fans here, i do agree a hundred percent (and then some) with this review. You took the words right out of my mouth.
I, too, had friends telling me how massive it was; how great it is and that it was the best they've seen this year, blah blah blah. But 10 minutes into it – I was massively disappointed.
First off, the characters could not have been more boring. Dicaprio's role couldve been played by any actor. The best moment he had, I believe, was when he "woke up" in the plane and looked believably surprised and baffled like most of us feel after an eerie dream.
There was nothing in the characters' plight I could relate to, or could sympathize with for even a moment to make me suspend my disbelief. And the way they keep explaining things throughout the movie is just so condescending. if you dont have faith that your audience actually has imagination and intellect, why make this kind of film? It just made the ending so predictable.
And the idea that a single idea could keep growing until it just consumes you – not too sold on that, either. to a certain extent, sure. but, we're not ALL mind so that's highly doubtful. if another attack was used for the film, i couldve been convinced for a minute but not in this.
I loved the effects and had a real visual feast, but that's about it. The movie seemed to me, just a long-winded episode of Twilight Zone. In fact, I could think of a 45-minute long episode that are more mind-boggling than this 2-hour excuse of a film. The creator had a great idea but I'm afraid he took it too far and came up with so little.
Monday, November 22, 2010 8:44AM
I second you Kim.I was waiting for the wow factor but somehow the story -telling wasn't effective or at par.
Monday, November 22, 2010 9:00AM
Its become a trend to appreciate "Inception" the movie and following it mindlessly.
Its a possibility that many of the viewers did not even understand the movie but aren't ready to accept it and want to join in "I love Inception" club for the sake of sounding intellectual.
The fact is the direction and the story telling were inefficient (Not complicated).Thats the reason why the characters had to explain each situation as the scenes weren't significant enough.
Agreed it was a fantastic plot but much could have been done to it to present it to the audience as a movie and not a random chapter from a sci-fi book.
It was repetitive ,lacked relativity and make believe factor.
As a movie it was disappointing but was an idea its worth a watch.
Tuesday, November 23, 2010 7:37AM
Wat an epic selling point of the movie,u need to watch it twice-thrice to get the matters sorted out…tht truly shows the fragility of the movie.
Sunday, December 12, 2010 9:04PM
This movie . . . played like an 8 year old was making up a story as he went along- only this 8 year old got a 100 million dollars to put his Mad Lib on the big screen. Self indulgent tripe. And the fact that major reviewers didn't pan this movie – and in fact praised this crap- tells us all we need to know about their independence. The reviews of this horrible movie are a scandal. I'm glad I didn't pay for this at a theater after reading one of the shameful deceitful reviews.
I would go so far as to say- that this movie and the false reviews of it- are emblematic of the rot in our society- however you want to see it per your politics.

i believe that this movie should be considered the best movie of the decade!

i love the movie so much!!

Personally, I think it was the best movie since 'The Matrix' from a human consciousness perspective and one of the most significant movies in cinematic history. I look forward to a sequel with the same cast. Every time I've seen it there have been new questions raised but then answered with the next viewing. 4 levels, 5 levels deep? No, 15 at least and still counting. If I could ask Nolan one question about this movie it would be: 'How much did your relationship with your wife contribute to your understanding sufficiently to allow you to produce it?" For the naysayers: I suggest an NLP or hypno therapist might be able to help you.

"After seeing the movie twice… Cobb's dream world has finally become his reality", very well put, my friend. I can see that you put a lot of thought into the meaning of this movie and I thank you for sharing your viewpoint because it's quite beautiful. Thinking that Cobb's dream to finally be reunited with his family has become his reality and comparing it to your former definition of a dream and reality was pretty inspiration actually. It hit home, made my heart sink a little to know that an open-ended movie such as this can have such a potentially beautiful outcome.
I wish that I could explain more, but I'm tired and want to bask in the deepness of your analysis without going off topic and ruining the point to this comment.
Once again, thanks for the great review.
Tuesday, January 11, 2011 10:27PM
First off, let's see you or any other person make a movie like this, or ANYTHING as successful and extraordinary.
Secondly, if you want to go see a movie out right now that got extremely deceitful reviews, go and watch True Grit. It's abhorrent and atrocious for it retrenches the reputation that wild-wild west movies and cowboy movies had. There was more action in the trailer than in the movie.
Sorry to go off topic, but I felt it applies to your comment about false reviews.
I liked this movie. If someone spends enough time to make a movie as provocative and innovative as that, AND leave enough open-ended parts of the movie to let the viewers fill in the blanks or argue about the true meaning of the movie for days or weeks or months on end, then that person… that person deserves my praise. Great cast, interesting plot, unique approach, combined altogether to create a movie that will engrave itself into your memory. 10 out of 10 in my book.
Thursday, January 13, 2011 6:30PM
I remember walking out of a movie in the 1980's because it was the worst movie I had ever seen. Luckily this one was rented, so I didn't have to pay the high ticket price of a movie. So I kept enduring the pain of watching this – just hoping that the willingness to turn this movie off in the first 5 minutes would subside. My biggest regret is that I have now wasted two hours of my life which I can never recover. I just hope that I can spare others the same feeling of wasted time in their lives. Without a doubt the worst movie of all time – and that says a lot!! Total garbage………..
Tuesday, January 18, 2011 10:42AM
Uh huh. I sat at a table with ten people on New Year's Eve and the subject of this movie came up. Most had seen it- and I asked one simple question- name one character in that movie. They couldn't. Not one person could name even the main character played by Dicaprio.
That movie was a joke. Give me a billion dollars and I too could turn one of my nephew's play mobile play sessions into a really cool movie too! Trash. Pure and simple.
Tuesday, January 18, 2011 11:06AM
Horrible Movie that teased you scene to scene.. I feel dumber for watching it. Thank God it was not Matt Damon.
Wednesday, January 19, 2011 6:36AM
I havent seen the movie. no, I really havent.
and yeah, people tell me I'm an idiot not to.
Actually, I was looking at the review…and honestly, I'm bedazzled!
DiCaprio is amazing (Titanic, Blood Diamond…you get it right?)
and the movie sounds entertaining.
huh. I guess I WILL buy the dvd…i mean, its not "How Do You Know" at the least,
And honestly, I really think that ANY Sci-Fi thriller is better than the drab and dull romantic
comedies Hollywood is producing these days.
Yay to Leo for actually acting in a movie that is…not run-of-the-mill, persay.

It is difficult to make a movie that would entertain someone with an intellect like yours. Relax, all you effing geniuses out there, sit back (have a drink or two) and enjoy a well-crafted movie.

I love how some dork gives a movie review posting that include the words "I havent seen the movie."
Saturday, February 12, 2011 7:13PM
the movie is AMAZING!!!!! I watched it two times it was so terrific. for the people saying that you can't follow the movie because it's so "complicated" , that is sooooo wrong. i got the movie as soon as i started watching it, but it does take some consentration ( please excuse my spelling) . I give the movie a 5 star rating!!!

I was reminded of Matrix at one stage. Was it the visuals or the concept, or both?
I worked out the ending in the hotel balcony scene.
Cobb is like an alcoholic and has no higher purpose, he just wants to return to normal, but he needs to look more like a messy, ugly "drunk" for that concept to stick. That he works for high powered companies but is a bad guy makes him look better than he should. The dreamers in the basement, where the chemist came from, needed more coverage (ie was that happening elsewhere?, what realities are left for us?).
I too spotted inconsistencies, esp. in the time expanse and the depth levels. eg. If the movie level reality is actually a dream why is it taking so long?
I was wanting more. I had heard this was the big movie to see.
It was too long.
I don't get that "action" (guns, bombs and fire) have to be the only entertainment in a movie.

It was completely a philosophical concept that set aside the boundary of dream and reality and left us with awe feeling how to define them ? a difficult task?

I think this has got to be one of the worst films that I have ever had to endure. I can appreciate the special effects and the concepts that the director tries to put over in the film. But, it just lacks any clear narrative and therefore fails to maintain my interest throughout the film. If think this film would not have been such a huge success, if it had not been hyped up and starred Leo DiCaprio.

I agree with the comment “Someone Tuesday, July 20, 2010 4:06PM ” wrote, if you as a film critic give your point of view, be sure that you talk from a professional angle. Not in a superficial way, by judging to soon and speak about predictable endings, in the meanwhile you talk with contradiction, by expecting an ending with an “typical blockbuster ending” . for the next time; watch a movie multiple times before you start writing. And check your reviews before you post it.
