Update: More Green Lantern photos have been released with Reynolds, Blake Lively, Tim Robbins, Peter Sarsgaard, and Angela Bassett.

Yesterday it was revealed that Ryan Reynolds would be on the cover next week’s Comic-Con issue of Entertainment Weekly and today the photo has been revealed. It features Reynolds as the Green Lantern with his mask, and power ring pointed and ready for action. The suit looks a lot better than I thought it would but don’t take my word for it, see for yourself…

The suit  they go with in the film isn’t that far off from what we’ve seen from various fan designs. As opposed to the campy spandex or rubber feel, the costume will be completely CGI, which we learned from the photos we saw of Reynolds on set wearing a gray and black track suit. It had motion sensors on it, which might be the landing points for the “glow” the surrounds the character when he’s powered by his ring.

As for everything else, I’m waiting for the first official trailer, which needs to have this in it:

I don’t know about you but I’m ready to hear him say,
In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil’s might,
Beware my power… Green Lantern’s light!

Am I the only one waiting for that piece of dialogue from the comic?

The Green Lantern is scheduled to hit theaters on June 17, 2011.

What do you think of Reynolds in costume? Do you like the look?
