Ever since NBA star Lebron James decided to take out an hour of time on the world’s most watched sports network to make a one second decision, he’s been the subject of countless parodies. The player announced that he was going from being the frontman for the Cleveland Cavaliers to the right hand man of Dwayne Wade on the Miami Heat. Last night at the 2010 ESPY Awards they couldn’t let such a pompous move go unnoticed so Steve Carell and Paul Rudd got together and shot a skit making fun of the entire event and it’s hilarious! Take a look…
The ESPYS was the perfect place to blast James for that overzealous “news special” he had last week. To be honest, I don’t care what team he plays for but to take out that much time for a one sentence announcement was kind of lame. The award’s host Seth Meyers even brought it up in his monologue when he stated,
“Did it really need to be an hour? Somebody time me. Miami. How long did that take? A second !”
So true Seth, so true.
What did you think of Rudd and Carell’s Lebron James spoof? Did you think it was funny or accurate?
