Update: The first official photo of Reynolds on the cover of EW has been revealed!!!
Next week will be a big deal for fans of the comic book genre and as usual Entertainment Weekly plans on kicking it off. San Diego Comic Con will be open for business starting Wednesday night, July 21st, and to get you ready the magazine will have Ryan Reynolds aka the Green Lantern on its cover. We’ll get our first look at the actor in his intergalactic, superhero suit!
According to Comic Book Movie, Entertainment Weekly Managing Editor, Jess Cagle recently made an appearance on Gale King’s talk show on AM 1150 and dropped a major bomb. At the end of the visit, King asked if Mel Gibson was going to be on next week’s cover due to his latest controversial rants and he replied, “no actually, next week’s cover will be Ryan Reynolds as The Green Lantern so that should be pretty cool”.
It’ about freakin’ time! We’ve seen the actor in costume before but it consisted of a black and gray spandex suit with motion sensors all over it. We want the real deal. He better be in full Green Lantern garb and not some vintage T-shirt with a logo on it! Don’t forget, last year’s Comic-Con issue gave us our first real look at Black Widow and Whiplash from Iron Man 2 so they’ve got to stick with tradition.
Are you looking forward to seeing Reynolds as the Green Lantern?
