Award winning actress Allison Janney is keeping herself busy with her new gig entitled, The Help. According to EW, she’s joined the ranks of Zombieland star Emma Stone for the film based on the novel of the same name. The book was written by Kathryn Stockett and the movie will be directed by Tate Taylor, who happens to be a childhood friend of the author. Talk about keeping it in the family.

In The Help, Janney will play Charlotte Phelan, the mother of Stone’s character Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, an aspiring writer. Oscar nominee Viola Davis will play Aibileen, Octavia Spencer has been cast as Minnie, and Bryce Dallas Howard is set to play Hilly, Skeeter’s childhood friend and adult nemesis.

In the grand scheme of things, this cast brings together several films that don’t have much in common, Juno, Superbad, Twilight, and Doubt. Who knew? Janney is best known for her Emmy-winning work on the NBC drama “The West Wing” and she recently appeared as a key character in one of the final episodes of ABC’s “Lost.” Are you ready to see Janney on the big screen again?
