Al Pacino Goes From Pushing Cocaine to Coffee
By Krystal Clark
Al Pacino has made some questionable career moves within the past decade and his latest project has him going from world-reknown actor to coffee pusher. That’s right, Pacino’s got an itch for caffeine and he wants everyone to know about it. The Oscar winning actor taped a commercial for an Australian coffee company called Vittoria and it’s recently surfaced on the web. Check out Pacino as “The Endorser.”
Oh Pacino, how the mighty have fallen. Does he actually ever take a sip of the coffee? There’s a lot of toying around with the logo laced cup but no drinking. If anything the cinematography here is awesome. It looks like they put a lot of effort into this ad. It has a similar feel to those American Express credit card commercials with Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro. Did Pacino ever do one of those?
Now that we know that Pacino is a caffeine junky unlike his coked out alter ego Tony Montana, we can all sleep a little easier. He’s pushing the brown stuff, not the white stuff these days and it’s actually legal.
What do you think of Al Pacino’s Australian coffee commercial? Does it make you want to buy some?

I believe that Pacino would only support a brand he believes in, so I'd definitely try this product. Everything he does especially at this point in his career will reflect on his image, even a cup of joe, but I trust he wont let us serious coffee drinkers down. There's only one way to find out.

What a beautifully shot and evocative commercial – the soundtrack was just gorgeous. It's the classiest commercial on tv right now – a real vintage throwback. As a young Italian-American woman, the commercial reminded me of sitting every day with my Nonni and Papa with coffee and a small pastry and life was no better. Mr. Pacino is a perfect Italian-American icon to talk about coffee: he appeals to a wide demographic, is highly credible, and the product itself is something we all consume every day and enjoy. There are no compromises to his artistic integrity – he's not hawking cell phones with half-nude girls dancing around….it's like a mini-movie; another media for his art. Bravo, Signore Pacino! **lifts cup** SALUT!
