Russell Brand has been hard at work on the remake of the classic 1980′s comedy Arthur. The original starred British comedian Dudley Moore and screen legend Liza Minnelli and centered on a rich playboy who falls helplessly in love. When we spoke to the actor during the press junket for Get Him to the Greek earlier this spring he had already done some early wardrobe fittings for the film. He said that even though Arthur was known for his 3 piece suits, he wanted to add his own style to the character and judging from these photos he did just that. The film is directed by “Modern Family’s” Jason Winer and will follow a wealthy drunk (Brand) who risks his large trust fund to be with someone his mother doesn’t approve of — a poor girl (Greta Gerwig). He’s pushed to marry a well-off heiress (Jennifer Garner) who has a very religious father, played by Nick Nolte. Oscar winner Helen Mirren is also on board as Arthur’s caregiver or “adult nanny.”

The original Arthur was a critical and commercial success which earned four Oscar nominations in 1982.
