The fact that the Saw series is still going strong is a mystery to me. It’s like Lionsgate refuses to let it die. On Halloween we can expect our annual sequel from the studio and this time they’ve decided to mix it up. According to STYD, they’ve changed the name of the film. For the first time since the franchise began 6 years ago the title won’t just be a number. Find out the new and uninspired name…

Saw VII is now being called Saw 3D The Traps Come Alive! Dumbest. Title. Ever. They’ve incorporated 2 things that people hate right now, 3D and a cheesy tagline. For some reason they thought the seventh film would be the perfect jump off for their new naming convention. I hope this big shift is a sign of the end times because the entire series has been exhausted and needs to die a slow death. There’s only so much “torture” a viewer can take.

Saw 3D The Traps Come Alive will hit theaters on October 22nd, and will go up against Paranormal Activity 2 for your Halloween dollars. I wonder who’s going to win that box office battle?

What do you think of the new name for Saw VII? Should they have stuck with the original?
