Whenever any real news comes out of the Batman camp it’s never courtesy of director Christopher Nolan. Instead, resident butler and Oscar winner Michael Caine always seems to be the bearer of good news. The latest tidbit he’s given up has to do with the production start of the third film, which is slated for a summer 2012 release. On a related note, Summit Entertainment’s Twilight Saga will also start shooting its final installment Breaking Dawn later this year.

According to Digital Spy, Caine stated in an interview, “I think they’re going to do it in April, that’s about as much as I know.” That’s all he knows about Batman 3 (so he says). How much do you want to bet that some more juicy details will emerge from him before they begin shooting? Batman 3 (tentative title) will hit theaters on July 20, 2012.

As for Twilight’s Breaking Dawn, the film is scheduled to begin production this fall in both Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Vancouver. The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. Part I of Breaking Dawn is scheduled to hit theaters on November 18, 2011, while the second installment has yet to be scheduled.
