The first teaser trailer for David Fincher’s The Social Network was all audio and had no real footage. The second teaser has been released and it’s — all audio and no footage. Damn! You thought we were going to get something different didn’t you? The trailer still uses the text over dialogue set up but this time it feels like we’re reading a bunch of instant messages between all the people who made Facebook possible. And oddly, one of them just happens to be Justin Timberlake, which we still can’t wrap our heads around. Check out the video…

The Social Network is based on the book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, which tells the story behind the controversial birth of the website. Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield play Facebook co-founders Mark Zuckerberg and Eduardo Saverin, while Timberlake stars as Sean Parker, the co-founder of Napster and the founding president of the site. The film’s screenplay was written by award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin.

The Social Network is scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2010.
