Several new photos have been released for Disney’s upcoming sequel, Tron Legacy and they look gorgeous. The film isn’t scheduled to hit theaters until December 17th but the marketing campaign has been in full swing for well over a year. We guess the studio wants a guarantee that the movie will be a success. The following photos were posted over on Empire and they’re sharp! Take a look…

Earlier today we learned that Disney will present a Tron Legacy panel at this year’s Comic-Con on Thursday, July 22nd. This will be a follow up to the presentation they did in 2009 that featured the cast, director, and producers.

Tron Legacy will hit theaters this winter, after a long 28 year hiatus. The first movie came out in 1982 and starred Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, a man who learned the power of Tron the hard way. Legacy will take place over two decades later, and center on Flynn’s son Sam (Garrett Hedlund) who’s just as tech savvy as his father.

Tron Legacy is directed by Joseph Kosinski and also stars Olivia Wilde, Michael Sheen, James Frain, and Bruce Boxleitner who appeared in the original.
