Paramount has just sent over a new clip from Dinner for Schmucks, the upcoming film starring the comedic cast of Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Bruce Greenwood, Ron Livingston, and everyone’s favorite Zach Galifianakis. Despite the change in the release date, the latest trailer for the film looks rather promising and the clip below doesn’t exactly have me rolling on the floor, but is humorous and Carell’s character is quite ridiculous and endearing. Hopefully it all pays off when you see the film as a whole!
Check out the clip below…
Dinner for Schmucks is a U.S. adaptation of the 1998 French film Le diner de cons (The Dinner Game), which was written and directed by Francis Veber. The original story centered on a wealthy man and his friends who have weekly competitions where they attend a dinner party and bring the dumbest person they kind find as their guest. Here it looks like Rudd is playing an Average Joe who wants to join an elite social society. And if I’m not mistaken the actual party took up the majority of the French film but here there are a lot of outside additions made. We’re not sure how that will sit with die hard fans.
Dinner for Schmucks will debut in theaters on July 30, 2010 (no longer on the 23rd)
