Skeet Ulrich Cast in Law and Order Los Angeles
By Krystal Clark
We previously reported on a shortlist of actors being considered for one of the coveted roles on NBC’s latest spin-off, “Law & Order: Los Angeles.” One of the names on the list was “Jericho” and Scream alum Skeet Ulrich who according to EW has officially signed on for the show. One role down and only a few more to go. Find out who he’ll play…
Ulrich will play one of the lead detectives on the series named Rex Winters. Here’s a little breakdown of his character:
He’s an ex-Marine who possesses the intuition of a natural cop. His experience during the Rodney King Riots — which occurred during his second month on the job — shaped his philosophy on policing. Basically, the world is chaos and people are either good or bad. As an added twist, he’s currently married to his ex-partner.
That is an interesting twist! One cop being married to another will be an awesome dynamic to throw into the mix. We wonder who’ll play his wife? Someone tough as nails will definitely be needed for that part. At the moment 5 other roles are being cast including his partner.
For the role of Winters Ulrich beat out James Van Der Beek, Michael Rapaport, Michael Ealy, Dylan Walsh and Dean Cain. Do you think they made the right decision?
What do you think of Ulrich being the first cast member of Law & Order: Los Angeles?

As much as I hate cop shows this one will be a winner, the girlfriend is crazy about Jake Green from Jericho so Rex Winters has a fan here, good luck Skeet.

It's about damn time someone recognized Skeet Ulrich as a hot commodity! CBS treated Jericho like the red-headed step-child. It was a great show with Skeet as lead & a superb supporting cast….bye-bye CBS, it's NBC for me!

I’m really excited that Skeet has been cast in LOLA. Hadn’t planned on watching it, but will definitely be tuning in now.

I hope NBC treats Skeet and his fans much better than ABC, (Miracles-great show!), and CBS, (Jericho-awesome show!), ever did. Skeet Ulrich is a superb actor. Thank you, NBC for making this smart decision. I guess there still are a few intelligent tv executives out there.
Congratulations, Skeet!!!

GREAT! He's a wonderful actor that CBS didn't appreciate. Love him! Have all his movies, plus Miracles, Jericho, & Into the West series.

Excellent choice! Skeet is an extremely talented underated actor. He can speak volumes with his eyes and emotions without even uttering a word out of his mouth. We all miss him on Jericho! He did an outstanding stellar performance as Hollis Eckhart on CSI NY. He will make one sexy detective!!!! CBS doesn't know what they lost! Can't wait…..thank you NBC!

F.N. Fantastic! I love Skeet and think he is a tremendous actor. I miss him on my weekly tv lineup and hope they cast Jericho alumni like Alicia Coppola and Michael Gaston — fantastically gifted actors in their own rights. Yay NBC!

Best choice by far. Skeet is a tremensously underrated and talented actor who is a 'real' actor in that he is not melodramatic or monotone. Just real. Love that about him. One website described him as a journeyman in Hollywood, and I would agree with that. Congrats Skeet, see you on NBC every week!

Fantastic news, excellent choice. I really hope they make an equally strong choice for the role of his wife… Treat Skeet right, NBC. He's been jerked around long enough!

I like Skeet he's an okay choice but the one guy i would have liked is
not even listed because he didn't audition for the part but was considered
by Dick Wolf at first for this role and that was Terrence Howard who i think would
have been a better choice no offense to Skeet.

I think he’ll be okay none of the other people you mentioned that tried out don’t even look the part of a cop especially a cop in LA the one person that didn’t try out but that Dick Wolf was considering is the person i would have preferred for this role and that’s Terrence Howard he would have been a way better choice no offense to Skeet.
