Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino has landed a new gig and its with the highly anticipated vampire film, Let Me In. The movie is a remake of the Swedish feature Let the Right One In, which was adapted from the novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist. Earlier this week we brought you the latest teaser poster for the film and prior to that the first trailer, now there’s word of this amazing composer coming on board.

According to a press release that was sent out by Overture Films, Giacchino has been tapped to score Matt Reeves’ English language adaptation of the novel. If Giacchino’s name doesn’t sound familiar to you his work definitely should. He was the man behind the awesome yet daunting sounds of ABC’s “Lost” and he was previously nominated for an Oscar for Ratatouille before finally winning for Up.

He’s also done feature work on Star Trek, Land of the Lost, The Incredibles, Mission: Impossible III, and Speed Racer. With the exception of Land of the Lost, his resume is filled with solid projects. Speed Racer is a hit or miss depending on what you like.

What do you think of Giacchino providing the music for Let Me In? Are you interested in seeing the film?
