We have two maternal castings to report: one has to do with the action thriller Abduction starring Taylor Lautner and the other is a dark adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood. Both Elisabeth Rohm (“Law & Order“) and Virginia Madsen have been tapped to play moms in the respective films. See who’s who below…
Rohm has signed on to play Lautner’s mother in John Singleton‘s Abduction, which centers on a young man who discovers that the parents who raised him aren’t his real folks, a revelation that triggers events and leaves him running for his life. The film also stars Sigourney Weaver, Alfred Molina, and Lily Collins. We’re assuming that Rohm is Lautner’s adoptive mother because the biological resemblance just isn’t there.
A casting that does make sense is Madsen as Amanda Seyfried‘s mom. They’re both blond, have wide eyes, and are talented actresses. She’ll co-star in Red Riding Hood, the “supernatural thriller” directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight). The cast already includes Lukas Haas, Shiloh Fernandez, Julie Christie and Gary Oldman. The story takes place in medieval times and is set in a village haunted by a werewolf.
The script for Red Riding Hood was written by David Leslie Johnson, who penned Orphan.
