One of the most anticipated and feared films of 2010 is Matt Reeves’ English adaptation of Let Me In. It’s the remake of the Swedish film Let the Right One in, which was a huge critical success. The new version stars Kick-AssChloe Moretz, The Road’s Kodi Smitt-McPhee, and Oscar nominee Richard Jenkins. Check out the first international trailer for Let Me In

The film follows an overlooked and bullied boy named Owen (Smit-McPhee) who finds love and revenge through Abby (Moretz), a beautiful but peculiar girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders who turns out to be a vampire. The producers of the original were on board with this movie, which looks pretty close to the Swedish version in terms of its tone.

Both Smit-Mcphee and Moretz are great child actors who are talented way beyond their years so I don’t have any reservations about their casting. The pressure is more on the filmmaker to keep the quality of this movie as close as possible to its predecessor.

Let Me In is scheduled to hit theaters on October 1, 2010.
