Josh Hutcherson Offered Spider-Man Role?

Over the past couple months everyone’s been wondering who will be the new Spider-Man, the hero that was previously played by Tobey Maguire in the Sam Raimi trilogy. After their 3 picture run, Sony decided to reboot the franchise with a new director and a new star. They’re looking for someone younger who can take us back to Peter Parker’s youthful roots. A shortlist of actors were mentioned as possible candidates for the role, one of them being Josh Hutcherson who Blue Sky Disney claims has been offered the part.
According to the site, close sources within the Sony fold revealed to them that Hutcherson has landed the gig of Peter Parker in Spider-Man. After weeks of screen tests the studio execs and director Marc Webb have decided that he’s the perfect guy for the role. If this report is true, it means he beat out some tough competition including Aaron Johnson, Anton Yelchin, Jamie Bell, Andrew Garfield, Alden Ehrenreich, and Frank Dillane.
At the moment, you should consider this a rumor as no official announcement has been made. The actor has been confirmed to appear in the Journey To The Center of the Earth sequel, so take solace in knowing that.
Spider-Man is set to hit theaters on July 3, 2012.

i looooved this kid when i saw him in bridge to terabithia& then in the 1st Journey movie, i thought i was a total creep being 20 and saying "That kid is gonna be so hot!" now he's 18 and so im 24 so i guess im still like one of those creepy guys who couldnt wait to start swooning over britney spears or natalie portman when they turned 18…. oh well… Josh you are an amazing young actor and I'm soooo excited you're going to be Peeta in the Hunger Games!!! I can't imagine a better actor for that part!!! Maybe Ben Barnes would have made a better Gale in my opinion, but you for Peeta?! A++++!!!! <3
