Wes Craven’s upcoming sequel Scream 4 has just gained two new castmembers. One of them is a former “Gilmore Girl” and the other is a “Law & Order” alum. According to EW, Lauren Graham and Anthony Anderson have officially joined the cast that already includes Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Lake Bell, Nico Tortorella, and the original trio Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette.
Graham will star as the mother of Roberts’ character Jill Kessler, the younger cousin of Sidney Prescott. Anderson’s role hasn’t been disclosed as of yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if he played a cop of some sort. Maybe he can be a sidekick to Dewey? The film’s script was written by Kevin Williamson and production is scheduled to begin at the end of June in Ann Arbor, Michigan (my home state, woo hoo!).
It’s ironic that Anderson landed a role in this film considering his part in the Scary Movie franchise. Scream itself was meant to be satire of cliched horror conventions, and Scary Movie just went and took it to the extreme.
Scream 4 debuts in theaters April 15, 2011.
