In The Smurfs, the forest creatures stumble upon a magic portal that transports them to modern day New York City (Central Park). They run into a married couple played by Harris and “Glee’sJayma Mays and beg them for help to escape the evil Gargamel (Hank Azaria) who’s trying to capture them so they can be used in his magic.

The trailer is under a minute long and gives us absolutely nothing in terms of the story or its characters. It’s just a way for the studio to introduce the new look of the creatures before hitting us with everything else the movie has to offer.

The Smurfs is directed by Raja Gosnell and is scheduled to hit theaters on August 3, 2011.
