Maura Tierney wants the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth! The former “ER” star has landed a new full time TV gig on the ABC series, “The Whole Truth.” The Jerry Bruckheimer produced drama originally featured Joely Richardson as the female lead but the actress dropped out due to family reasons. Therefore, Tierney has stepped in to take her place.

Richardson appeared in the pilot episode that was shopped around to networks for the fall season, which will be re-shot with Tierney when the show debuts. “The Whole Truth” chronicles the way a case is built from the perspectives of both the defense and prosecution.

Official Synopsis:

Kathryn Peale (Tierney), the product of a New England background and a sheriff father, is a deputy bureau chief in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Jimmy Brogan (Rob Morrow), born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen and a friend of Kathryn’s since their days at Yale Law School, is one of New York’s rising criminal attorney stars. These two evenly matched legal masters will square off each week as the central characters of the series.

For those of you who are still reeling over the cancellation of “Numb3rs“, you can get your Rob Morrow fix with this show. As one of the leading characters we’re sure you’ll be satisfied with what he brings to the table. Two other notable actors who’ll appear are Eamonn Walker aka Said from HBO’s “Oz” and Anthony Ruivivar who starred in one of the most underrated TV dramas of all time, “Third Watch.”
